Simon has 38 years of experience in the Australian, European and North American power generation and transmission industries. He is responsible for ensuring that the Queensland electricity transmission network meets Queensland’s growing needs reliably and efficiently.

Phil has over 35 years experience in the industry in activities including, electricity reform, customer interfaces, external communications, business revenue and network pricing. As a significant employer of electrical engineers in Western Australia, Western Power recognizes the critical role that API can play in facilitating a co-ordinated and high quality approach to the supply of engineers to the industry.
Ms Geraldine Leslie B.A. , MBA
- General Manager People & Safety, SP AusNet.
Geraldine has over 23 years experience in Human Resources, Safety and related areas, gained in both Public and Private sector settings. Prior to her appointment in November 2009, Geraldine was employed by BlueScope Steel for almost nine years in Senior HR Leadership roles, her last position being General Manager Human Resources for BlueScope's Australian Coated and Industrial Markets. Her background also incorporates various senior executive and leadership roles in the NSW Health and Local Government sectors. In her current role, Geraldine is accountable for SP AusNet's People, Safety, Government Relations and Communication functions.
Mr Peter McIntyre B.Sc. B.E. (Hons), MBA (Technology Management), FIEaust, FAIE, FAICD

Peter is the Managing Director of the NSW transmission network service provider TransGrid. Peter has over 25 years experience in all areas of transmission engineering with extensive experience in regulatory, policy and asset management roles.
Mr Paul Brazier B.E. (Elec), MBA
- General Manager Asset Strategy Development for Essential Energy.
Paul has nearly 30 years experience in the electricity distribution industry in NSW in a wide range of professional engineering and senior management roles. In his current role with Essential Energy, Paul is responsible for the development and deployment of overall network asset strategy which is being delivered through a $6B investment program.
Ms Terryl Frazer Dip Soc Welfare, B.A. , Grad Dip Business, MHRM

Terryl has over 30 years experience in the electricity industry, including construction, development, technical services and testing, transmission and generation. She is responsible for managing the Human Resources function for a leading electricity generator in the industry. Learning and development is one of the critical activities in the HR portfolio, for current and future employees. In planning for future needs, the Corporation now has over 60 apprentices in training; a traineeship program for business-related studies; conducts its own scholarship program; has a successful industrial work experience program for undergraduates, predominantly in engineering disciplines, and is now implementing a graduate development program. These activities are strongly aligned with the objectives and activities of API and involvement in and support to API offers further opportunities for the Corporation to secure future professionals.
Mr Chris Arnold B.E., Grad Dip Bus Management
- Executive General Manager Network Performance for ENERGEX Limited, Queensland.
Chris is responsible for Corporate Occupational Health and Safety, Network Capital Planning, Network Asset Management, Systems Engineering, Environmental Management, Network Property Data and Coordination and Demand and Risk Management. Chris was appointed General Manager Network Performance in 2006 and has worked in various parts of the Queensland electricity industry since graduating as an Electrical Engineer in 1982. Chris believes that the API plays a valuable role in promoting the power engineering profession to new graduates thus ensuring the supply of good quality power engineers into the future through its partnering with universities.
Mr Neil Lowry B.Eng (Elec), Grad Dip Management, MIEAust, CPEng, RPEQ.

Neil has been working in the Queensland Electricity Industry for over 36 years and has performed many senior leadership roles in most areas of electricity distribution including construction, operations and maintenance as well as retail, customer service and change management. Neil is currently the Executive General Manager Asset Management for Ergon Energy and has overall responsibility for the performance of the electrical assets to ensure that customer and stakeholder requirements are met within agreed financial outcomes. Neil has developed a strong Graduate Program within Ergon Energy and has a strong interest in ensuring the sustainability of the electrical engineering capability in the electricity supply industry.
Mr Peter Anthony Langdon B.E. (Hons), MBA, MIEaust, CPEng
- Regional Manager Central for Endeavour Energy
Peter has been working within the Electricity Distribution Industry for over 25 years. Peter has held a number of Engineering and Managerial roles including a 6 year period as Manager System Operations. Peter is currently one of the 3 regional managers at Endeavour Energy, and is based in the fast growing South West sector of Sydney. Over the past 8 years Peter has taken an active role in the development of undergraduate and graduate programs at Endeavour Energy.
Mr John Bund B.Ec (Hons)

John comenced employment with BHP working for a number of different divisions including BHP Collieries, Lysaghts, House Framing and Port Kembla's integrated steel works. Over the past 12 years John has worked for Qantas Airways' Airports Division in Industrial Relations, Human Resources and Operational roles. John joined Delta Electricity in 2007 and has responsibility for all aspects of the Human Resources portfolio. John is particularly interested in industrial relations and organisational development and to play a role at API in shaping the future supply skilled engineering staff to the industry.
Mr Brett Hooper B.Eng
- General Manager - Design and Engineering, Ausgrid
Brett has over 28 years of experience in the electrical transmission and distribution industry. He joined Ausgrid (Energy Australia) as an Engineering Cadet in 1983. Brett has extensive distribution experience and has held positions in Network Control, Technical Services and Field Services. In his current role, he is responsible for all facets of major substation design and engineering including the Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Building and Electrical requirements. Brett has a particular interest in building engineering capability, through a combination of worksite undergraduate and post graduate training. He is an active member of Ausgrid’s mentoring program and has 10 years experience in teaching and tutoring.
Mike Hunnibell BEng, MBA, CPEng, FIEAust, MAICD
- General Manager Transmission Services for Transend Networks.
Mike has over 30 years of experience in the electricity industry in Tasmania and has worked across the areas of generation, transmission and distribution. His current role is to ensure the reliability and security of all transmission network assests are sustained at a high level.
Mr. Tony Concannon
- Executive Director of Australia at International Power PLC, since August 2003.
Mr. Concannon served as UK Country Manager of International Power PLC until August 2003. He joined International Power plc in 1982 and worked in a number of its business areas including: operations, asset management, trading and international business development (based in Asia). Mr. Concannon served as a Regional Managing Director of International Power Australia Pty Ltd. since August 2003. He has 20 years of experience in the industry and served as an international Project Developer and a Senior Trader in National Power's energy management team. He serves as Executive Director of International Power Australia Pty Ltd. He has been an Executive Director of International Power PLC, since January 1, 2004. Mr. Concannon holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree and is a member of both the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. He is a Chartered Engineer.
Mr. Barry Finlay BE, MEngSc, MBA, FIEAust, CPEng
- Professional Head Electrical Systems for Novo Rail, an alliance between Aurecon, Laing O'Rourke, O'Donnell Griffin and RailCorp
- Convener of Cigre Australian Panel D1 'Materials and Emerging Test Techniques'
Barry has over 30 years experience in the electricity supply industry in areas including transmission system construction and maintenance, traction substation design, high voltage testing and measurement and in professional engineering learning and development leadership.
Mr Ed Wilson, B.Eng.(Hons)
- General Manager Power Business Unit, Wilson Transformer Company (WTC)
After graduating in 2001, Ed joined Wilson Transformer Company and experienced a number of roles in Plant Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality and Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Management, Customer Interface, and more recently Business Unit Management. As a leading Australian owned Power and Distribution Transformer Manufacturer, WTC has been an active supporter of the API since its inception. WTC recognises the need for young engineers to gain early industry experience as part of their development, and has regularly provided employment for API Bursary holders.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Mr Mike Griffin B.E.(Hons), Grad Dip Management, FAICD
Appointed by the API Board in December 2006, Mike brings over 30 years experience in power engineering and was most recently the Head of Network Asset Management at Energex. Mike has been involved with national forums including the Energy Networks Association Board, the NEMMCO Participant Advisory Committee, Standards Australia, Electro Technology Sector Board, and the Board of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia. He also was involved with organising the Distribution 2000 and the Energy 21C series of biennial conferences for the Transmission and Distribution industry.
