Funding of activities at universities in 2007/08
API is working closely with the following universities in 2007/08 and is funding the following activities:

The University of Technology Sydney(UTS) |
- The establishment and administration of API’s National Power Engineering Bursary Scheme in NSW for all first year engineering students
- Sponsorship of a Senior Lecturer to co-ordinate development and enhancement of power engineering programs at UTS
- Under API leadership development of a collaborative curriculum for power engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate/continuing education (including short courses) based on centers of excellence throughout Australia’s universities
- Development of 2-3 additional power engineering topics to be delivered in undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses.

The Curtin University of Technology |
- The establishment and administration of API’s National Power Engineering Bursary Program in WA and SA for all first year engineering students
- Sponsorship of a contract Lecturer in Power System Protection to deliver teaching in the area of power system protection
- Development of 3 On-Line teaching modules from the Master of Engineering Science in Electrical Utility Engineering Program in support of API’s collaborative centers of excellence approach. This will provide access to all potential students throughout Australia to these modules through distance learning.
- Development of 2 short courses in power engineering to provide for the continuing education needs of industry professionals
- Sponsorship of Keynote Speaker at Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUSPEC’ 07) in Perth.

- Sponsorship of an API Postdoctoral Fellowship for Women in Electric Power Engineering to:
- Promote interests in graduate and postgraduate studies in power engineering
- Support the role of women in power engineering.

- Victoria University will administer the API Bursary Program in Victoria
- Actively involved in the Advisory Committee for the API Residential Summer School to be held at UTAS in February 2008.
