Alumni connections play a crucial role in ongoing professional development. They provide opportunities for mentorship, networking, career insights, and motivation, all of which can accelerate your career growth.

Have you been involved in our programs?

The Australian Power Institute believe that professional development is an ongoing journey, crucial for career growth and success and one of the most valuable resources available to individuals in our programs is the people you meet and connect with.

These program participants become API alumni and provide unique perspectives, mentorship opportunities, and career insights that can be pivotal in helping current participants advance in their professional lives.

We want to encourage API Program alumni to connect and exchange industry knowledge, trends, and career advice, all of which contribute to a more effective development experience.

The Grid

If you have been involved in an API program over the last 20 years, we would like to hear from you! Complete this form with details of the program and year you were involved.

What the Grid offers:

Attend Alumni Events and Networking Meetups - In 2024 we hosted 3 Alumni catch ups in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with great success. We are going to continue organising them when linked events and conferences are happening in each state.

These events provide a great opportunity to reconnect, learn from past graduates, and build relationships with alumni who are active in your field. By attending these events, you can meet alumni from different generations, hear about their career journeys, and discuss shared interests.

Social media and professional networks - In 2025 we will be forming ‘The Grid’ LinkedIn group for our program Alumni to keep in touch.  This will be a fantastic way for you to engage in ongoing industry conversations, share resources, and learn about professional opportunities. By updating your own profile and engaging with alumni content, you maintain visibility within the network, making it easier for others to reach out to you as well.

Share your career journey - The API are always looking for power professionals to share their career journey into the industry and beyond. These career profiles become a resource for the next generation to be inspired and informed into what pathways are possible. Want to share your story? Fill out the below form:

Become a mentor/mentee - Although the API doesn’t have a formal mentoring program, we believe you can form informal mentoring partnerships with those that you network with online and in person. A formal structured program may be developed if there is need, but with clear expectations from both the mentor and the mentee you can ensure a productive and supportive professional relationship.

Recommend your staff for our programs - Many alumni are now leading larger teams or have moved into other areas of the business. If you feel like your staff or network could benefit from one of the many API Programs, we will gladly have a chat about how we can make that happen. Email info@api.edu.au for more information.
