On behalf of the The Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA), API invites you to EECON 2017 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 22 & 23 November 2017.

The 2017 conference’s theme is “Collaboration and Innovation: Adapting Today’s Grid for Tomorrow’s Future”.

EECON 2017 will bring industry leaders to Brisbane to share the rapid developments impacting electricity participants from market operators to through to customers. This conference examines industry and customer developments in adopting and integrating technologies to deliver sustainable, affordable and reliable energy. The need for all segments of the industry to work together to deliver these outcomes for the benefit of all stakeholders will be explored.

EECON 2017 will bring leading industry influencers to Melbourne to discuss, collaborate, and innovate towards a brighter future – don’t miss out on this tremendous opportunity to discover and debate the future energy blueprint of tomorrow.


As API recognises the importance of connecting current indutry professionals with the next generation of future industry leaders, API invites undergraduate and post-graduate engineers studying disciplines related to the electrical and energy industry to present a poster at EECON 2017.

A limited number of posters will be displayed in the foyer of the EECON 2017 conference on Thursday 23 November. Students will have the opportunity to communicate their work to the conference attendees.

*API will sponsor up to 10 students who will be able to attend EECON day 2, and present their poster, for free. Students will be chosen on merit of their abstract submission.

Application Process
Students will submit a 400-word abstract of their work to the EECON17 technical committee. Abstracts should discuss the project, the context of the application, and any progress/findings to date or anticipated.

Abstracts must be submitted through the abstract submission portal below before Friday 27 October 2017 at 5:00pm (EST).

Successful applicants will be offered a discounted Conference registration – Full Conference $350 or Day Registration $200 (Thursday - which will be paid by API). Prices include GST.
