2025 Power UP Video Challenge: Showcasing the Impact of Power Engineers
Are you ready to put your creativity to the test and showcase the crucial role of power engineers in driving the energy transition? The 2025 Power UP Video Challenge is here, and we want to see how YOU and your work are making a difference in the Australian energy landscape!
Theme: Driving the Energy Transition – Power Engineers at the Heart of Change
This year’s challenge invites students completing a 2024/25 Summer Placement at an API Member Organisation to create a compelling 3-minute video answering one of the following key questions:
1️⃣ How do you see power engineers having an impact?
2️⃣ How is your role making a difference in the Australian goal of net zero?
3️⃣ How is your project/organisation impacting the customers and community that you serve?4️⃣ Explore the project that you worked on and/or the projects that your organisation is doing.
Bonus Round: Extra Points Up for Grabs!
For those looking to gain an edge in the competition, answer one of the following bonus questions for additional points:
✅ How has the API helped you in making an impact or progressing your career in power?
✅ Students can reference the broader Power UP Program, Scholarship, conference attendance, Inside Industry, or the Power UP Summit.
How to Submit Your Video
1️⃣ Create your 3-minute video (maximum duration allowed) answering one of the core questions above (plus an optional bonus question).
2️⃣ Include the API Call to Action Slide at the end of your video (downloadable from the submission form here). This is mandatory for eligibility.
3️⃣ Get approval from your company manager/management before submission (if applicable).
4️⃣ Upload your video to YouTube using the hashtag #APIVideoChallenge and tagging @AustralianPowerInstitute (uploading to YouTube and using the hashtag + tagging the API in your post are mandatory).
5️⃣ Submit your video link via the official submission form here
Boost Your Chances of Winning!
To increase your chances of securing the People’s Choice Award, share your YouTube video across social channels like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok. Remember, for a video to be considered, it must include the #APIVideoChallenge hashtag!
