This year marks the 11th anniversary of International Women in Engineering Day. Despite significant involvement of women studying engineering, only 13% of engineers in Australia are women.

Celebrating Women in Engineering Day is crucial for recognising the significant contributions of women to the engineering field. It highlights their achievements, discusses the challenges of gender stereotypes, and encourages more women to pursue and stay in engineering careers. Programs such as the API’s Powerful Women in Leadership Program are designed to support women at each stage of their journey, providing the community, the encouragement, and the help needed for success and retention.

This year, we are excited to welcome Sarah Huang, Executive General Manager Delivery and Technical Services at Powerlink, and Fatima Bazzi, Head of Customer Connections, Assets and Digital Group, Ausgrid, to discuss their careers in engineering and technology. Our webinar offers the opportunity for everyone in our community to hear about their career journeys, ask questions, and seek guidance.
