In honour of the late Terry Effeney (one of the Australian energy industry’s greatest contributors), API along with The Effeney Family, Ergon Energy & Energex (as part of the Energy Queensland Group), have created the T.J Effeney Award.

This Award was created to support one of Terry's great passions which were to support the next generation of power sector workforce professionals.

About the TJ Effeney Award

For power-curious and power-passionate undergraduates

The TJ Effeney award brings together a national group of over 20 students from across Australia, to attend the national conferences - ENA and EECON, including an afternoon of activities with the API and its member organisations.

Successful recipients of the award will receive flights, accommodation and registration, as well as a number of activities arranged by the API.

The TJ Effeney award is for students seeking a career path in power, it is an opportunity to grow their knowledge and expand their industry network.

This award would not be possible without Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) and the Effeney family. We thank you for your continuous support.
